The Coalition has revealed the system requirements for Gears 5, the 5th installment of the long-running Gears of War franchise. Gears 5 releases on September 10th, but players can play it starting September 5th if you subscribe to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Gears 5 PC System Requirements
The Coalition revealed three seperate performance requirement tiers, the typical Minimum and Recommended as well as an ‘Ideal’ spec, which features some really high-end hardware.

- CPU: Intel Core i3 ‘Skylake’ / AMD FX-6000 Series
- GPU: AMD Radeon R9 280 or AMD Radeon RX 560 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 or GeForce GTX 1050
- VRAM: 2GB
- RAM: 8GB
- HDD: 80GB
- OS: Windows 10 May 2019 Update
Recommended
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 / Intel Core i5 ‘Skylake’
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 570 or Radeon RX 5700 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or GTX 1660 Ti
- VRAM: 4GB
- RAM: 8GB
- HDD: 80GB

Ideal
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 / Intel Core i7 ‘Skylake’

Gears 5 is available for pre-order on the Windows Store or Steam and is available as part of the Xbox Game Pass.
