AMD Officially Drops Prices on RX 5700 Series Ahead of Launch – 5700 XT Now $399, 5700 $349

We have gotten confirmation from AMD that the 5700 series will be seeing a significant price cut across the board in order to compete with NVIDIA’s newly launched SUPER-series GPUs – While the 5700, 5700 XT and 5700 XT 50th Anniversary edition were originally to launch at $379, $449, and $499 respectively, however, the company has decided to cut prices across the board by up to $50.

AMD Radeon RX 5700 Series New Pricing Breakdown

  • 50th Anniversary Edition AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card — $449 USD
  • AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card — $399 USD
  • AMD Radeon RX 5700 graphics card — $349 USD

Competition Heating Up In The GPU Market

This new pricing will aim the RX 5700-Series squarely against the GeForce RTX 2060 and newly launched RTX 2060 SUPER. This is great news since NVIDIA’s SUPER GPUs could have invalidated the RX 5700 series’s value before it even launched had AMD kept the prices the same. We can’t say right now how the 5700 series performs (check back in on Sunday), but at the very least it is clear that the 5700 series will be more competitive than originally thought.

Overall, we’re happy to see AMD and NVIDIA launching at least moderately competitive GPUs after such a long period of both companies being highly non confrontational. The RX 5700 series and the SUPER series represent the most competitive GPUs we’ve seen in some time.
